New York Yankees Veteran Emerges to Bolster Rotation in Wake of Injuries
Thursday, May 1, 2025
The New York Yankees are off to a fantastic start this season, and one of their key players is starting to find his groove in 2025. Coming into the year, there were a lot of question marks surrounding the starting rotation. Before spring training, this unit looked like it could have been one of the best in baseball with Gerrit Cole and Max Fried at the top of the rotation followed by the reigning American League Rookie of the Year, Luis Gil. Unfortunately, injuries decimated the rotation early on.

Major Aaron Judge Announcement Made on Thursday
Thursday, May 1, 2025
The New York Yankees are off to a solid start in the 2025 campaign, once again headlined by their superstar outfielder Aaron Judge, who has been a dominant force at the plate through the team’s first 31 games. With an 18–13 record, the Yankees currently sit atop the AL East. According to OptaSTATS, prior to 2025, no American League player had ever recorded 50 hits, reached base 70 times, or totaled 85 bases before the month of May. Aaron Judge has accomplished all three this season.

Yankees' Pablo Reyes accuses Orioles player after near fight
Thursday, May 1, 2025
Despite an insane series from Aaron Judge, the Bombers dropped the set to their scuffling division rivals. During the game, Yankees infielder Pablo Reyes and Heston Kjerstad collided on an awkward slide and tag attempt at second base. “A couple words there that I felt like disrespected me in the heat of the moment,” Reyes told the media through an interpreter, Per ESPN. Kjerstad agreed after the game that there was not much there.

Yankees predicted to make blockbuster trade for $260 million third baseman
Thursday, May 1, 2025
The New York Yankees are off to a strong start this season, but clearly have a need at third base. The team has World Series aspirations and may not be able to meet them with DJ LeMahieu and Oswaldo Cabrera in the hot corner. LeMahieu is still hurt, and Cabrera is more suited as a utility player. Cabrera is having a strong first month, but he did the same last season before regressing.

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm provides optimistic update with oblique injury
Thursday, May 1, 2025
Jazz Chisholm isn't worried about the oblique injury he picked up Tuesday night. The New York Yankees second baseman was pulled from the 15-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles during the first inning following a double he hit down the line. The injury seemed to take place during a swing earlier in the at-bat, which showed Chisholm dealing with clear discomfort. Despite the hit, the Yankees took him out of the game after he got up gingerly.

Aaron Judge's absurd April leaves Yankees in awe: 'He's playing a different game'
Thursday, May 1, 2025
As April 2024 came to an end, Aaron Judge found himself in the throes of unfamiliar struggles. With the Yankees in Baltimore for a highly-contested series against the Orioles, Judge owned a .207/.340/.414 slash line after 31 games. Yeah, he had six home runs and 18 RBI at that point, but his production lacked enough by the end of that series that Aaron Boone was asked about a potential lineup change for the three-hitter. It sounds silly in retrospect, as Judge enjoyed the greatest season ever for a right-handed hitter in 2024, slashing .322/.458/.701 with 58 home runs, 144 RBI and a 218 wRC+.

Yankees Slugger Dramatically Achieves Milestone Months After Leaving Cardinals
Thursday, May 1, 2025
St. Louis Cardinals fans have the misfortune of constantly being reminded how their beloved franchise has parted ways with former stars who thrive after joining other clubs. Since Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak assumed his role in Jun. 2017 -- fortunately ending after this season's over -- St. Louis has foolishly traded Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen, 2022 National League Cy Young recipient Sandy Alcantara and 2024 NL Championship Series MVP Tommy Edman. Another former Cardinals star who Mozeliak recently cut ties with is having a resurgent season at the plate, several months after signing with the defending American League champion New York Yankees, achieving a significant career milestone Wednesday night.

Aaron Boone makes bold Yankees prediction heading into May
Thursday, May 1, 2025
Ten minutes after the Yankees lost a game and a series to a reeling Orioles ballclub that doesn't have much pitching, manager Aaron Boone stood up against a concrete wall outside the Oriole Park visiting clubhouse and addressed this 5-4 setback with a little edge in his voice. A big takeaway from this disappointing night was bottom-of-the-rotation fill-in Carlos Carrasco getting hit around again. “We're gonna be really good,” Boone shot back with a little agitation in his voice.

Thursday, May 1, 2025
The Yankees frantically threw out their offseason playbook and went to the backup plan last December when Juan Soto decided their 16-year, $760-million offer to return wasn't enough. Will Yankees give Ben Rice more defensive reps as he continues to rake?
Wednesday, April 30, 2025
BALTIMORE — With the Yankees beating up on the Blue Jays in Game 1 of a doubleheader on April 27, Ben Rice caught for the first time this season. Rice started that game as the Yankees’ DH, but he took over receiving duties in the ninth inning with his team up 11-1. While Rice is a natural catcher, it was just his second big league inning with gear on. Rice’s other frame came last season in ...
