The fans stayed through a rain delay of two hour and 32 minutes in hopes of witnessing Alex Rodriguez's 600th career home run and instead saw one of the scarier moments of the season Sunday: The Yankees slugger getting hit with a 95 mph fastball in the eighth inning of the Yanks' 12-6 win over the Royals.The pitch from Kansas City's Blake Wood was up and in and hit Rodriguez on the left hand and then the forearm. It just missed his face. Rodriguez spent a couple of minutes on the ground.He was back in the lineup Tuesday for the series opener at Cleveland."I have pretty much full strength. Alex Rodriguez returned to the New York Yankees lineup on Monday night and took aim at his 600th career home run, a day after a hand injury forced him to leave early. Rodriguez exited in the eighth inning Sunday after being hit in the left hand by a pitch from Kansas City reliever Blake Wood. Rodriguez was set to start at Cleveland, batting cleanup and playing third base.

Arizona president Derrick Hall has confirmed that the New York Yankees are among "a few teams" in discussions with the Diamondbacks about a possible trade for right-hander Dan Haren.
