The wife of Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has filed divorce papers, a day after prosecutors charged a woman with stalking him and extorting money over an extramarital affair. Mary Cashman filed the paperwork Friday in Stamford, Conn. Her lawyer didn't immediately return a phone message Saturday.

As the Yankees continue to move through the marketplace in search of an extra left-handed bat, they are considering whether potential players have had success in New York before. Along with a new uniform, Jose Reyes has a new, close-cropped look. The All-Star shortstop had his dreadlocks trimmed during a nationally televised haircut Friday on the MLB Network. Former Chicago Cubs general manager Jim Hendry was hired Tuesday to be a special assignment scout for the New York Yankees. Hendry spent 17 seasons with the Cubs and was GM from July 2002 until he was fired on Aug. 18, unable to help the team win the World Series for the first time since 1908. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said he believes Hendry will be an invaluable resource.
